*Personality:

On the outside? Prowl is strict as all hell, cold, calculating, and manipulative. He's the kind of guy that makes you want to punch him in the face. Let's begin with cold and strict. Letting emotions get in the way of judgement is something he sees as a weakness, and his public image is very important to him. In addition to that, he has a strong respect for order and rules. He loves rules more than he loves you. He loves rules so much he had encyclopedic knowledge of what he goes by. No, really. A Decepticon prisoner once tried to off himself to avoid listening to Prowl recite the Tyrest Accord and how it applied to his crimes after two and a half days straight of lecturing. From Memory. To reiterate, that was choosing death over prolonged Prowl lecture. His familiarity with regulation is perhaps one of the greater assets. He knows exactly what he's dealing with and how to circumvent it where necessary, because moreso than following any specific set of rules, he has a strong need for a sense of order and structure. If something gets in the way of that, he'll adjust, but his end goal will always be towards effective order.

His love for order is most likely the result of the societal influence of pre-war Cybertron, which had a strict caste system and a hard emphasis on following old traditions. Moreso than that, he had been in charge of upholding laws there, and while the world was quite an imperfect place, at least there was a relative sense of order. But look a little deeper than that, and it's much more personal. What he cares about the most is a sense of agency, a sense that he has some control over his life. His strictness, his cold attitude, his growing paranoia, all of it is centered around a strong desire for control. This is especially the case in the way he'll be willing to scheme behind people's backs. He'll lie, threaten, or worse to get what he wants if it's necessary. He'll manipulate your pants off if he gets the chance. Even if it compromises his morals, it was something he chose, and thus it is valid. The guy will make back-up plans for his back-up plans to get it done. It is all for the greater good, after all.

But despite the icy exterior, he's far from emotionless. Underneath that heavy lid is a lot of vindictive anger and misery. He's been guilted into fighting a war he actively wanted to leave behind, and has had to suffer through all four million years of conflict from day one. He despises Decepticons for having derailed everything. He has a special hate saved for Cybertronian neutrals too, since they've managed to escape the conflict while he had to stay behind and do his duty. Of course it doesn't help that they were kind of sassy towards the Autobots when the war ended they came back. But seriously, that while skirting responsibility thing will really tick him off.

His capacity for deep-seated, vengeful hatred is especially prevalent in what he thinks of Spike, a man(an alien, nonetheless) who he had actually legitimately grown to trust and believe in. This is important - Prowl never just 'has faith' in something, he didn't even know he was capable of faith - except for this one time. And this person later goes to admit that he had been using him for his own gain the whole time. To add insult to injury, he later discovers said person was making deals with the Decepticons (whom he HAETS) since they began. Yep. So much for faith! Occasionally, when he begins to doubt his own methods are getting too harsh, whether said person deserves it, he thinks of people like Spike to remind him of why he does what he does. As of late, he's grown to be extremely vengeful when pushed, and he has developed a Pay Evil Unto Evil policy. If he feels you've truly wronged, he'll retribute by finding a way to wreck your shit(or you) and feel totally justified. Again, this can be linked to the need for a sense of agency. Letting someone get away with something he feels is wrong means he doesn't have control of the situation, and that is an unsettling thought for him.

Of course, bottling up emotions as he does doesn't help any of it. He keeps a lot of stress and pressure on the down low for the sake of his job, but sometimes he has to just let it out. The result? As you can imagine, an angry outburst. He can be quite cruel with his words when pushed to this, even to close friends and people he cares about. Occasionally the furniture will suffer heavily, and a lot of the time he tries to keep these slip-ups in private. But they do happen, and they're telling of what lies just underneath that cold exterior.

You're probably wondering by now how the fuck this guy is an Autobot. Seriously? What happened, guys? Well okay, he's not just an asshole. Underneath the cold facade and the anger there's a third variable in the equation. A benevolent facet, one that fuels his sense of justice and helps guide what is right and wrong in the absence of physical rules. In the end, he does truly care about the people he grows attached to. He doesn't show it often, but their wellbeing and the wellbeing of the innocent is something that is constantly on his mind. This is shown by his time on Earth. His first reaction to human lives in imminent danger was to forget all the planning and calculations and break his cover to save them. He has an empathic, compassionate side, it's just a side of him that hasn't been nurtured much, partially because of his own tendency to supress his feelings. It's an unfortunate requirement of being the Autobot's tactician. He can't let his feelings guide him when he's strategizing for untold amounts of Autobots, especially if some of them are being sent knowingly to their deaths.

*Powers/Abilities:
+ Math & Computer Brain: Can calculate the trajectories of 800 moving objects and determine a countermove all in about 0.5 seconds. Can also do this in reverse. While you're talking he'll be busy solving a few thousand different equations in his head because math is more interesting than people. This extends to detective work as well, as he was a crime scene investigator before the war. He's rather perceptive of small details and patterns that others may not notice.
+ Hand to hand: He got a pair of robot walking canes and used them as dual-wielded tonfas to beat a guy up and snap his sniper rifle in half. With the tonfas
+ Giant Robot War Machine: has missiles on his back and is 20'-25' high as most Cybertronians are.
+ Guns: He knows how to use them. He's not shown to hold any internal weapons, however. He just has his characteristic missiles.
+ Alt Mode: Black and white Cybertronian patrol car, with sirens and lights and all. That paint scheme is not very reminiscent of his morality.

Writing Samples
*First Person Sample: Dear Mun!
[An audio channel opens up to the sounds of a minor struggle. Metal shrieks briefly, then a loud thud follows. It isn't long before the scuffle is reduced to a painful sounding creak. Any medic could recognize that ring as the dangerously strained hyperflexion of an arm joint. A less than pleasant voice tears through the channel.]

Do any of the six theocrats in charge wish to explain how being attacked five minutes away from one of your 'temples' is supposed to be called a Haven?!

[The question is rhetorical, there's about a five second pause before it chimes in again. And boy, is it as charming as ever!]

The perpetrator in question has been restrained, and I suggest someone direct me to where he can be deposited before this escalates any further.

*Third Person Sample: And a little Museboxing?

The nearly untouched metallic soil of a primordial Cybertron was not an unfamiliar landscape. It was lacking the angered tendrils and cybernetic plantlife that had spotted his own revived home world, but the similarity was there. It made his undesired arrival into the Haven all the more unnerving. Being thrust into sudden unknowns was never one of the Autobot's strong suits. So many unaccounted variables and factors. Unknowns that effectively rendered his modus operandi utterly useless. No equation could help plot the appropriate course of action without the correct variables to input.

At least, until he got a better image of what kind of monster he was dealing with. Prowl had gathered what he could from the Temple's Acolyte, having not much choice other than to believe whatever information it spouted. Yes, 'spouted', because all the mystical, metaphysical nonsense that was supposed to explain half the things that went on in this hole only earned an questioning quirk of the optic from the more pragmatic listener.

Still, it was something to work with, so he forced himself to sit through it all.  Prowl couldn't bolt out of there fast enough as soon as he was done. He'd rather face the empty expanse with his own eyes.

So there he was, standing before the entirety of the Haven. A contemplative moment later, metal shifted and rearranged itself, leaving a black and white car at the base of the temple. It wasn't long before it began to speed off, aiming to gather more information.

Final Notes:
+ Due to having his mind messed with at one point, he's going to be more vulnerable to mind control. I imagine this extends to any possible supernatural flareups from the Lambda.
